Paralympic Day 2019 in Aspire Zone Foundation

Aspire Zone Foundation “AZF” collaborated with Qatar Paralympic Committee to organize the Paralympic Day 2019 under the slogan of “World Day for Special Needs” at Aspire Dome on Wednesday 4th of December 2019, providing various sports activities for the audiovisual, deaf and physical disabilities groups.

The event was attended by Mr. Abdulla Aman Al Khater, Director of Events and Venues from Aspire Zone Foundation and Mr. Ameer Al Mulla, Executive Director – Qatar Paralympic Committee, and Mr.  Jaber Al Hajri - Head of Public Relations from QTerminals, and along with a number of prominent figures and officials. Commenting on the event, Mr. Abdulla Aman Al-Khater, Director of Venues and Events said: “Aspire Zone Foundation aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle bringing community members together and the Para Athletes play an important role in our sports-focused initiatives. We would like to thank everyone who helped and contributed in making this day a huge success, in particular, Qatar Paralympic Committee and QTerminals”.

During this event, the Aspire Academy students’ team participated in multiple activities, such as: Table Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, Goalball, and Athletics for children with intellectual disabilities, and an entertainment side for extreme disabilities such as Bucha competitions. Mr. Ameer Al Mulla, Executive Director - Qatar Paralympic Committee, expressed his deep thanks to the strategic partner Aspire Zone Foundation for adopting a sports festival for students and institutions of the disabled in Qatar. This event is the first of its kind in Aspire Zone Foundation to support and promote the sports culture among all segments of society without exception. Also, Aspire is the only foundation in the country that devotes a full-day activity each year during Ramadan Sports Festival for Table Tennis Competitions for the people with disabilities.
